Cynthia and Judah first met at a coloring contest for Hispanic heritage
month. Cynthia's friend, Eli (pronounced Elie), won first place and Judah was the one to deliver the prize
to Eli. From there, Judah and Eli became friends and with time Judah became friends with Cynthia as
well.
A brief question, "would you like to go out some time?", is what sparked
this journey for Judah and Cynthia. After an initial rejection from Cynthia, then some awkward texting over
winter break, Judah and Cynthia had set
up Jan 11th for their first date.
The first restaurant that the two went to was Thai Orchid. Curry being
Judah's favorite and it being a genuine surprise for Cynthia. With a walk in the, now demolished, mall of
Moorhead, MN, the two felt in sync. It was like finding the right puzzle piece to connect to
another.
The 16th is when they became official, now annually spending that day at
Thai Orchid as the anniversary date. In the summer of 2023, the two spent it mostly apart, other than the
occasional meet up in Cynthia's home town.
School was busy for the two, causing many stressful moments in the
relationship. But despite the hardships, Judah and Cynthia worked hard to grow and learn how to work with
each other more and more.
Work went up much higher but the summer was quite rewarding. The two went to Chicago with Cynthia's family and fell in love with the city. Maybe they will go there, maybe not. The two continued dating (mainly work dates) and Judah grew an appreciation for concert events. Cynthia took them to concerts and that's where Judah learned about \"mosh pits\".
From here, Judah graduated in May 2025 and Cynthia spent the summer in the dorms of MSUM. She worked a new job at Sandford Hospital and Judah focused on starting his own business. The two spent the summer together riding their bikes around downtown Fargo exploring the libraries and discovering new places. Just before the start of the Fall semester, they decided they wanted to get married.
What's next? Cynthia graduates May 2026 and just soon after will be the wedding of the two. Where will they go next? It is still undecided. There are some ideas and some preferences but the two are still waiting for specific things to settle.
